The Arc is optimized for high mountain speed riding. This is the wing that can descend the steepest slopes in our entire range. Its short lines combined with long stroke trimmers and long brake travel allow a very dynamic descent along the slope while offering the possibility of flying in the blink of an eye.
Inflation and Takeoff
The Arc takes off very quickly. Its take-off behavior is predictable and reliable, as it should be when launching into very steep slopes in the mountains. It inflates very quickly, even from a compact ground layout.
On the Snow
The brake travel is very long, practically the longest of any speed wing we have tried. You can use all that travel without stalling or overcontrolling the kite, allowing for small jumps easily while riding a steep slope as well as freestyle maneuvers like the ski switch or grabs earlier in the pilot's progression.
Trims and Descent Angle
The Arc has the longest trim travel of any Ozone speed wing. By completely releasing the trimmers, it descends with a very large angle. The slope is so steep when the trimmers are completely open that the wing comes with a seam that prevents access to the last 3 cm of opening. It's up to the rider if they want to cut the seams to get all the travel. By closing the trimmers, the Arc has an impressive glide for a wing specifically designed for speed riding on skis, comparable to the Dragon.
Takeoff on Foot
Although the Arc was designed for speed riders, when the trimmers are closed this wing becomes a very stable and safe wing that allows you to do speed when taking off on foot. Many pilots appreciate the feel of lightweight fabrics and risers and short lines for classic speed flying at intermediate to advanced level.
Materials and Design
Lighter materials decrease the inertia of the wing, which improves behavior when gliding down a technical slope at low speed with an unloaded wing when the pilot is in contact with the ground. A lighter wing stays overhead more easily at low speeds. The sheathing of the lines extends their lifespan, the new neoprene handles are optimized for large gloves, and are attached with conventional pressures rather than magnets.
The Pilot
From beginner to advanced, the Arc will appeal to a wide range of speed riding pilots who want a wing that is truly capable of speed riding downhill. You need experience in speed riding or paragliding to fly this wing, it is available in three sizes: 12m / 10m / 8m.
