    The Zeolite 2 GT was developed using technologies proven on the Photon and Zeolite 2 XD projects (wing of the RedBull X-Alps 2023). The genes of these two wings have combined to give rise to a very efficient and comfortable wing for walking and flying, vol-bivouac and large cross-country skiing.

    The design

    The profile adopted allows you to benefit from our latest progress and offer more speed and better maneuverability, mainly due to a new positioning of the opening on the profile. The aspect ratio is barely increased but still moderate for this category of wing and validated in strong alpine conditions. Optimization of the internal structure made it possible to improve performance by adding seven cells without increasing the total weight of the wing.

    In flight

    Passive safety and closing behavior have been improved by better hold along the rope, particularly at the rear of the profile. Although the profile is better maintained, we have managed to reduce the total drag of the lines. Along the span, we adopted a new architecture composed solely of groups of three cells as developed on the Photon. This makes it possible to obtain the best ratio between the number of diagonal reinforcements and the number of line attachment points, which makes it possible to keep a light structure while still being efficient.

    Photon or Zeolite 2 GT?

    The Zeolite 2 GT is a faster, more agile wing aimed at higher level pilots. The arch of the Zeolite 2 GT and its absence of winglets give optimal thermal behavior while remaining healthy in the event of closure. However, it requires more attention and actions from the pilot than the Photon in turbulent air. The Zeolite requires more precise pilot actions in strong conditions due to less stability in roll and pitch. Furthermore, although the Zeolite is one kilogram lighter and folds into a smaller volume than the Photon, their lifespans are similar.
