Ozone Speedster 3 - Wing Paramotor EN B - Progression

The Speester is a "full reflex" paramotor wing for intermediate to advanced pilots. While optimized for long rides, the Speester is also a playful, dynamic and versatile wing that allows for low-level evolutions and slalom.

    Description

    The Rid'Air team's opinion: " ... "

Its modern design incorporates the latest technologies that have appeared on our high performance paraglider wings and developed for powered flight with feedback from paramotor pilots, and validated by the best in the world. Although designed specifically for paramotoring, the Speedster's excellent performance and handling also allows it to be used for free flight - soaring, thermalling and even cross country flying.

    The Pilot

The Speedster is for both intermediate and advanced pilots. It is ideal for pilots coming from lower performance wings such as the Roadster and for experienced pilots who do not want the higher mental load that competition wings impose.

    Speed and Stability

Speed and stability are the key points of a good paramotor wing. The Speedster is fast and, even more importantly, its strength allows you to use the full speed range. The trimmers allow you to reach a high cruising speed without having to push the gas pedal. At maximum speed, the Speedster remains very resistant to collapse, even in turbulence, and the riser action makes it easy to control the wing without distorting the profile. The risers are simple and easy to use, and the full speed bar travel can be used regardless of the position of the trimmers. Unlike other paramotor wings, it is possible and safe to use full speed bar travel even when the trimmers are in the standard (slow) position without reducing the inherent stability of the profile.

The OZRP reflex profile has been particularly carefully thought out and tested, and is not only solid and fast but also forgiving of errors. Increasing the "reflex" level of a profile can have a negative impact on take-off, handling, fuel consumption and passive safety. For us, these characteristics are extremely important and cannot be overlooked, so we worked hard until we found a coupling between an internal structure and stable profiles that increased the speed range of the Speedster.

    Agility

At Ozone, every wing is designed with piloting at the center of our concerns. From the humblest of our school wings to the highest performance competition wings, we want our wings to give pleasure to their pilots. Hundreds of hours of testing and development by our R&D team and some of the best pilots in the world are behind the agility and responsive handling of the Speedster. It is an agile and fun wing that feels more like a paraglider than a normal reflex paramotor wing. The TST (Ozone Tip Steering) is a simple and easy to use system that allows you to control the heading during accelerated flight effectively and safely without touching the brakes.

The optional 2D system is derived from slalom racing and provides modulating control all along the trailing edge. By combining the brake and TST, it changes the character of the kite - the Speedster becomes more dynamic and responsive, the level of control is taken to its maximum.

    Launch

The inflation and ground handling are particularly important for fun and safety. We have worked on the Speedster's inflation characteristics until it is smooth and achieved without too much effort even without wind, while ensuring that it remains quiet and does not overshoot in strong winds.

The Speedster is a great example of how to get the most out of your flight.

    Lining

We are continuously developing the Speedster line of wings, always going further in improving the design so as to make them better, safer and more fun to fly. After a long development process, we are happy with the result: the wing is very fun, with a surprising top speed and overall ease of use that will put it at the top of many Paramotor pilots' lists.

    Structure

The Speedster 3 benefits from concepts proven on the Speedster 2, the Freeride slalom and our range of performance gliders: the arch, planform, aspect ratio, line point position, profile and opening position are very similar to those of the Speedster 2 but combined with the internal structure and line plan of the Freeride. Tension bands have been added to the upper surface to increase tension and distribute it more evenly along the span, improving the cohesion of the wing and the feel of the ride.

The Speedster 2 has a very similar profile and position to the Speedster 2 but combined with the internal structure and line plan of the Freeride.

    Fast and efficient

The optimized 3D leading edge cutout reduces drag and increases lift. Two more cells and a cleaner leading edge combined with reduced line drag, an optimized profile and extended trim travel make the Speedster 3 the best performing model in the series, ideal for long sailing, classic racing and slalom.

    Stable and safe

Over the entire speed range, the OZRP optimized reflex profile withstands high turbulence without closing and is therefore suitable for flight in thermal conditions. The wing is certified according to EN 926-1 and our internal tests, accepted by the DGAC, show that the Speedster 3 performs similarly to previous models in the series and matches the EN C level when the trimmers are in the slow position.

Please note that the Speedster 3 has not been tested by an independent laboratory to EN 926-2.

    Polyvalence, agility and fun

The character of the Speedster depends on the wing loading and the use of the optional 2D control system. In the middle of the weight range and with conventional braking, the wing climbs very well, it is perfectly suited for touring. The installation of the 2D system improves the responsiveness, agility and control of the wing. When flying at the top of the weight range the wing becomes much more dynamic and agile, its precision then makes it a perfect wing for close to the ground evolutions or for slalom fun.

    Differences compared to Speedster 2:

    • Optimized 3D cutting of the leading edge .
    • More boxing and better drop rate
    • More performance and reduced fuel consumption
    • Increased top speed
    • Extended speed range at trims
    • More precise and dynamic steering
